How to cancel Planet Fitness
Planet Fitness cannot be cancelled online. Most locations require an in-person visit or a certified letter.

- Check whether your home club accepts online cancellation - many do not
- If not: visit the club in person, or send a written cancellation letter by certified mail
- Ask for written confirmation and keep it
What they don't tell you
- Most locations require in-person or certified-mail cancellation. Phone and email are usually refused.
- Cancelling after roughly the 10th of the month often means one more charge.
- The annual fee may still bill if it falls due before your cancellation is processed.
There is a cheaper option first
Gyms rarely discount but often allow a freeze (typically $5-10/month) which stops the full charge.
